Sam Smith (born January 8, 1955) is an American former professional basketball player.
A 6'4" guard born in Ferriday, Louisiana, Smith played at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas during the 1970s, and helped the Runnin' Rebels reach the NCAA Final Four in 1977.〔Sam Smith. Retrieved on October 11, 2009.〕 He then played two seasons (1978–1980) in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls.
